I didn’t start volleyball with an understanding of the game. I started with a serve and a spark.
In 7th grade, I stepped onto the court not knowing the rules, the rotations, or even how the game worked. But I had something that couldn’t be taught - confidence. At 13, I discovered club volleyball and entered a new world of competition and fast-paced play. I was hooked.
I had explosive athleticism, and a desire to grow. Coaches saw it. They believed in me. But not everyone did. I was undersized, and in a sport that often favors height, some held that against me. I didn’t let it stop me. I didn’t play to prove them wrong; I played because I loved the game.
Over the years, I’ve faced walls that tested my resilience. Each setback became a challenge to come back. I leaned on the mindset of champions: Harper Murray’s grit, Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Mentality, Simone Biles’ fearless drive. They reminded me that greatness isn’t measured in inches, it’s built through heart, discipline, and relentless effort. Volleyball isn’t just a sport to me, it’s my passion, my performance, and my platform to prove that heart beats height every time. That’s why I live by the DRVN mindset.
DISCIPLINE: The daily commitment to consistent effort and self-control.
RELENTLESS: Pushing limits and refusing to settle.
VISION: A clear goal that drives every action and decision.
NERVE: The courage to face pressure without backing down.
These aren’t just words: they’re how I train, how I compete, and how I live.
